The 2021 Australian National Championships (ANC) was originally to be played in Perth earlier in the year. Due to the COVID-19 situation this event was moved online using the RealBridge platform. Tasmania had teams competing in the Open, Women's, Seniors' and Youth Interstate Teams.
As with most places, Covid has impacted negatively on our efforts to expand the reach of bridge amongst our youth in the State. However, we have had some promising developments that we believe will bear fruit in the future.
The 2020 Summer Festival of Bridge started in a very smoky Canberra on 8 January, running to 19 January. There were seven Tasmanians playing, and Simon Edler was one of the directors.
